My brigade’s Kiowas departed last summer. They made a similar flight, but I didn’t see it. As much as we -47 and -60 guys like to talk shit about the -58D, I can’t help but have a soft spot for the little helicopter.

I knew a guy in Germany who flew the unarmed version and was tapped to go and work on the development of the barbed version. This would have been around 1990.

Was in a Kiowa unit for 3 years. These helicopters were great. When I was in Afghanistan they were always flying while the Apaches were broken. Air Cav!
